Cohesive Interior Design Kids Space Reveal | JPID Studio

At JPID Studio we love designing spaces that carry the same interior design aesthetic consistently throughout, while giving each space it’s own personality. For this particular project (Coastal Contemporary Pinecrest), the client had two young daughters who were very close in age.  They wanted to a fun space for the girls to sleep, study and play in. We had so much fun creating this contemporary kid’s space – that is trendy and fun, but will also grow with them..making it not only beautiful, but functional for both girls.

We kept the background neutral while adding pastel tones to brighten each room, giving it that sweet, feminine touch. Although this is a space for kids, the subtle color palette, curated artwork selections and custom built-ins helped maintain the high-end interior design look & feel as the rest of the home. The girls have their own bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, each with its own fun juxtaposition of colors, incorporating each of their unique style and personalities.

FEMININE & FUNCTIONAL

The media room was designed for sleepovers, movie nights and play dates with friends. We wanted this room to be feminine and functional. The queen-size sleeper sectional was ordered in a performance fabric, ensuring it could uphold everyday wear and tear. An important factor in luxury interior design is implementing beautiful and high-quality durable textiles; from the fabrics to the rugs – for ease of maintenance and longevity, especially for kid’s spaces and high-traffic areas.

STUDY ROOM

Lastly, the study room is a place where the girls come to do their homework, arts & crafts, and play! It features plenty of storage, a center table for study group sessions and their own individual workspaces. We wanted the vibe in this room to be airy, light and fun – while ensuring the space was free of any digital distractions.

This cohesive space is a place of solace for the girls, where they can be productive, recharge, play, and rest. Even though all the rooms are separate, they were designed to connect with each other.

It was such a fun area to design, but the best part was seeing the girls reactions when they finally saw it completed. They absolutely love it and we know they’ll create so many amazing memories there.
